Security Technician I

Individual will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work space at all times. This position will include but is not limited to cabling, terminating and installation of provided security equipment in a clean and professional manor. This position will interface with new and existing VGI customers on a regular basis. Compensation based on experience.

Requirements: 

  • Basic construction knowledge and skills.
  • Understanding of wiring methods, including wire termination techniques, cable support installation (J-Hook, raceway, conduit and cable support).
  • Outstanding communication, organization and customer service skills.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and the ability to assess a situation and discern the best solution for any given problem.
  • Ability to document accurately what tasks were performed and what equipment was used on all jobs.
  • Must be able to work as a team towards a common goal in all environments.
  • Valid Class C Texas Driver License.
  • Minimal or no derogatory marks on driving record.
  • Able to pass criminal background checks, have not been convicted of a felony and able to pass random drug screens.
  • Willingness to further career in the security industry.
Recommended:
  • Preferred any experience installing access control and CCTV systems.
  • Experience in networking systems. (Basic Infrastructure, Wiring, System Design)
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating system and use of test equipment which can include CCTV testing monitors and multi-meters.

Security Technician II

This position will need specific installation knowledge with various physical and electrical security products. Position will be responsible for the overall installation quality of field devices. This position will include but is not limited to cabling, terminating, basic programming and installation of provided security devices (Card readers, locks, IP devices, network cameras, alarm systems).

Requirements: 

  • Ability to run crew on job site and be the technical POC for their assigned job.
  • Proficient with everything included in Security Technician I.
  • General construction knowledge and skills.
  • Understanding of system plans with a basic understanding of building blueprints.
  • Understanding of wiring methods, including wire termination techniques, cable support installation (J-Hook, raceway, conduit and cable support).
  • Experience with security equipment installation and basic system programming.
  • Experience with CCTV cameras both IP and analog technologies.
  • Good understanding of camera, access control and burglar alarm installation practices.
  • Ability to work and perform efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Outstanding communication, organization and customer service skills.
  • Proficient troubleshooting skills and the ability to assess a situation and discern the best solution for any given problem.
